one tip people might find handy:
Quite obvious if you think about it, but you may have noticed that when you trigger a sample from the sampler, it plays the whole sample.
To be able to control the length of the sample, you need to set the del, att, hold, dec and rel to 0 and sus to max for the vol envelope in the INS tab
this will now play the sample for the length of the triggering note.
FL may also auto timestretch the sample, preventing you from altering the pitch. In the SMP tab of the sampler, right click the time knob in the timestreatching panel and choose none.
peace
ive got a tip for you
to control your midi data or any other signal i.e filters , pitch or any knob you see in fruity loops simply right click the knob and go to edit events to draw in those real time edits
also when you right click on a knob you also have the option to link to controler, very handy for any one with a midi controler who wants to control the knobs in real time on there hardware

once you link to a controller does it have to be an external one or can you link it to a vst controller or similar? where can I get some good vsts from. Im well bored of the ones ive got?
if you want to just cotrol the vst synths in fruity , you dont need an external controler , just right click the knobs and select edit events on the control of your choice , i.e filters or lfo's , any knob in fruity just about , so you can draw in some filter sweeps and pitch bends and all sorts of stuff

Hi there.. i'm really new to this forum, but as it happens i help run a tutorials site that focuses on flstudio. you can check my personal information for details, as i'm not sure of this board's policies on posting urls.
One thing i can say though is get VST soon and often! As well, get a handful of drumkit packs.. and leave the stock FL packs behind.. they are tired.
