Ok, Ive had some top nights at X, it was one of the first places I heard propafat basslines through a decent system, but I really can't imagine the atmosphere to be any good in Nation. Its well known for being strict on drugs and shit, Im not sure how the dnb massive will take the change.

I mean, dont get me wrong, its a damn site bigger that old Le Bat's but is size all that counts to make a wicked dnb event?

I think it might put some people of, you know getting more commercial and shit. I know itll put me off:expensive drinks, more bouncers than real people, you cant even smoke a spliff in their man!

Id like to hear other peoples opinions, also; can anyone suggest any good venues in Liverpool other than the masque, le bateaus, zanzi bar? I wanna start Element back up in September but we aint got no-where to go yet :( . Anyone with any ideas?

I've mentioned this before on this board but I hate the fact that X has gone to Cream and that also counted for Bugged Out too ...

The place is fucking horrible and I can't believe that people will put up with the shit that goes on just to even get in for a start (and then it's paranoia all the way ...)

Oooh don't get me started .....

Drum and Bass at Nation? Well that might be interesting... I must say I'm not the hugest fan of the venue but I'm not that choosey!

I'm used to London venues really but I'll go wherever I can hear decent music 4 a chance not this Scouse House nonsense that follows me everywhere I go in this town!

Anyone else from down South? I went to some excellent nights at home over Easter - Slammin Vinyl @ the Sanctuary, Milton Keynes on the 6th of April was amazing!

Well, for a start.. X will be held in the Annexe and the Main bar to start with, which is pretty small and intimate. The sound system will be supurb. Being at nation will also attract much bigger names to Liverpool form down south...which is surely a benefit for the scene up here...Smoking ganja will be a problem and the security will be alot more strict, but in fairness everyone who stays at bugged out passed about 3 o clock is on pills, the security dont seem to mind that much... i just think your very unlucky if you get searched etc...

Your right bane - bigger names, cleaner sound. You shouldn't let the noble herb get between you and a good gig. Those that drop or snort will get away with it, so i suppose its a quick pipe or two in the bogs 4 u darka.
Iv never bin to the new venue - so i cant imagine what it'll be like ''but i have taken a drunken piss against the back once and the system sounds fat.

We'll have to wait'n'see wont we eh??!!

I see your point about the bigger being better, but do you think it will be the same or will change? If so, for better or worse? I recon its about time for a change for X, its had its day in a smallish venue and its time to move on, Im probably just too stuck in me ways.

I will definately wait and see what happens, could be really amazin and attract people from miles around, im just sceptical of new things, sounds like itll be good in May with all dem roodboys whipin up sum ridums.

I like the sound factory, anyone been there? It seems more like a club than the zanzi or le bats, you know, 'could be in a film' type thing. Its got a raised 70s type dance floor with flashing lights and stuff, always make me laugh, I can just imagine lulu or someone doing the twist on it!

Anyway, enough of this banter.

i think that if a night is gonna be in a big-ish venue - it's got to be well organised, it's so easy to lose the intimate atmosphere in a big club.

i've been to slammin @ sanctuary in milton keynes a few times and usually it's real good, proper good atmosphere but if people arent up for it all over the arenas, or the vibe isnt right, you seem to lose the atmosphere. i dunno it forms in pockets and people start muscling up to get to the best bits.. it can just go a bit wrong

i'm quite partial to the smaller clubs now, you can get real close with everyone and see what the whole place is upto :)

I agree, smaller clubs where people are all packed in together provides a nice cosy friendly vibe. The more widespread the crowd, I think the atmosphere gets diluted a little.

With regards to the Sound Factory, I've spent many a night in there when Voodoo was there in the mid 90's and I went to a few Chrome nights there too. When it was full it used to get a good vibe, only down things about it were the fact there was hardly any space for chilling out and the security were erm 'over-zealous'to say the least ....

Do u remember the first Chrome nights in '99 - in the SunRise club above the 051? That doesn't get used on a Friday night and would probably be cheap to hire. The more jungle nights in Liverpool, the better, kid!
