ok, i got a pc with a bog standard souncard but i also have some midi gear....a drum machine, synth and keyboard i would love to hook up to the pc.
see i was looking at getting a better soundcard like Audigy or Exigy? cos they come complete with midi sockets thus solving the problem, But.....
as I never have the money I was thinking I should just get a midi interface for what I've got
I saw a lead that was usb to midi in+out but this was £50, but that seems excessive, there are cheaper ways of doing this?
what are your opinions on all this then folks?

yeah, you have a soundcard right?
you can just get a midi interface that connects to the joystick port on the soundcard - shouldnt be much more than a tenner for a decent one.

get a decent one tho [midiman etc] cos cheap ones can choke if theres a lot of midi data running thru 'em.

Daze..on the pic of your studio I can see midi in+out on your soundcard. wot soundcard is that then?
Out of all the people producing here no-one else is using midi?
Si?

I use midi -

Infact I got a new midiman x2 day and new sound card.

Until now I've been using wheat u see on Daze's studio picture.

It's a Sound blaster live! 5.1 with breakout box.

The breakout box just makes it so u dont have to go around the back of the PC - plus a few xtra's.

Si's using a Atari ST for midi sequencing.
