Yeah DIVX Player Alpha comes as part of the package with the DivX codec itself if i remember correctly, but once installed the codec should make pretty much any media player (ie windows media player) capable of playing divx.

I had a good site for all kinds of different codecs, i'll dig it out for ya soon, in the meantime do as daze said and install the divx codec!

its not getting the player or the codecs thats the problem, basically when you agree to get divx alpha the new version, this fuckin internet company makes you automatically try and onnect to their site. its like a little pop up connection box on your desktop. to get rid of it it says uninstall divx alpha player etc, but even if i do that i still get this fuckin box poppin up! ive got pure different divx players but this is just annoying!

used reg clean, seems to be sorted now. however, mi mate jim burns me dvds with pure divx data films on and when i try and play them on my dvd player it can sometimes have a lot of problems? d'ya reckon its because the disc is so big and cannot be read fast enough?

ok divx has had loads of little glitches, like older divx versions (3/4) won't play on newer divx players (configured for version 5 etc. one player i always use is windvd or powerdvd. windvd is better, and it plays everything. so go look for it !
