I've got Reason 2
its great
so far i have a collection of 30 sec to 1 min bits but as i'm so amateur i'm struggling with a few tings
a) structuring a track - i struggle with this - as i said before i end up with snippets but nothing structured
b) i'm good at messin round but as its a cracked copy i have no tutorials to teach me how to use stuff
c) I have the sounds and ideas in my head but when i try and get a sound i want i end up spending hours pissin around and don't get anywhere
in essence i suppose what i'm saying is i'm a bit shit - but at least i try!
anyone got any bits and bobs of advice you can give me so's i can try and actually get something good together, or any websites with tutorials, or some method i could use to get to grips with all the bits of kit and get a basic structure goin?
its a vague one but if anyone can help its you lot!

Good advice
I work long hours and i think that is the main problem i'm having - i could do with being a doley which would give me enough time to learn!
Ah well, i might be moving back over to manc at some point soon and will probably look into a course to do to speed the process up
any other pointers anyone can give would be appreciated though!

i too, have a load of short experimental loops.
it's good to get the whole of you track sounding good together as a loop, before you start to layout a whole track.
I tend to get to carried away trying to make things different, and usually it ends up a bit bearded. whilst sorting out a sequence i'll have another idea, put it in. The tune then starts to sound too random.
You should try and build a groove from your initial idea, and dicipline yourself to not get lost and follow it through.:bang:
Anyway this is luke isn't it? four to the floor gay music should be fairly easy to make.

its seems that when you got a job you wish you were at home writing tunes and when you aint got a job you cant be arsed doing anything..gotta love the irony..

Just got the above book, and if you're a bit of an amateur on Reason like me, it is a must have
It covers Version 2, takes you through each instrument, what it does, gives you tutorials to teach you how to use it, gives advice on structuring tracks and mixin down, and gettin your pc running at optimum performance, using effects, using the sequencer etc.
I would strongly advise you get it if you need a bit of guidance
its called Fast Guide To Reason by Derek Johnson and Debbie Poyser
its a junior bad boy!

The disk you have is an original copy of Reason 2, no crack version. Its a copy from an original disk boyieeee
Need help, come to Dr Reason's pad next sat with Sade
Have you sorted out SX yet? Thats the missing link to using Reason shat on its own to weaker sound.

Yeah thinking on Reason is pretty cool on its own but put it through SX and it turns into a beats. Quality in sound is a lot more deep just depends if your computer starts yelping!
Stick to that guide you bought though, sounds good should be enough little hinters and shit,
