I noticed that after you said...more MCs than acts, something wrong there......it's like the early d&b events that tried to cram in as many DJs as possible - 6 hr event, 24 DJs, 15 minutes each..WTF!

I've no problem with responsible MCing, it adds greatly to a night when done correctly. What I cannot stand however is the shoutfest that occurs when you get a gaggle of competing barkmeisters crowding round the mic

Cock-rotting STDs are part of human culture, doesn't mean to say we like them though :agree:

Agreed, nothing better than a good mc along with a dj. SP is a fine example of how to mc.

The venue is a massive cattle market type thingamiybobby, last time I went (about 6 years ago) it fookin stank o' shite. Good night though, was a Dreamscape event and Joe Peng MCd. He was a good MC what happened to him?

I'm sure he was still mc'ing after Kinetic closed. He used to be resident at Dielectric at Die Hard in Leicester init.

Most of the people that go to slammin vinyl are there to see those MCs that they grew up listening to on the tape packs, regardless of whether they shout bollocks down the mic.

Kinda like a cult following init.

To be honest, every time i have been to slamming vinyl i havn't even noticed the MCs. Too busy paying attention to the immense bass lines, mid ranges and trebles that the DJs are kickin out.

Had some of the best times of my life in that filthy shit hole.
