View Full Version : Help with Reason 2.0

I don't actually need help with the day to day to use of reason beacuse I can't install the bastard thing.

Ive got an AMD K6/2 500
256Mb
(everything else in the system requirements)

When I open the install program on the CD the computer takes a long time to think about it and then says:

"Cannot read from the specified device"

Ive upgraded from Win 98 to 2000 and performed a clean install of 2000 and it still won't work. The annoying thing is that it works on every other computer!!!!

Please god somebody save me from certain insanity!!

If its copied.. probably a faulty cd :/

Have you got another computer to try it on, to eliminate any problems with your setup, just incase?

It works on another Windows 98 machine and a Win XP machine - but not my 2000 machine (or 98 as it was a few days ago).

I think i'll copy it again on a different machine to see if that helps - as you said it might and definitely sounds like a dodgy CD.

Does Reason work with AMD processors btw?

Yeah mate, I've been using Reason on my AMD 800mHz for about 12 months now, works a treat!

isn't 2000 notoriousley a twat for stuff like this?

and it hates audio apps aswell ive heard...get 98 back mate :D

It loves every audio app I've got, and I've been in this game for a while!

It was definitely a dodgy CD! Managed to install it on my old man's XP machine but couldn't copy the disc.

It finally opened the installer package on my machine and then couldn't read the sound bank disc so it crashed ad burned!!

Has anyone got a copy of it? (Legit of course **cough**)

Affray runs all his music apps perfectly under win2k. But then i think his is a P4 1.6ghz with half a gig ram so it oughtta run anything.. Could risk the frequent crashes and hence loss of hours of work with 98, but i wouldn't! I say the same for ME too :P

Taph; i should be able to sort ya out, remind me a couple of days before phat camp, i need to get some of that huge pile of cds off joe, altho i bet he used em all now :eek:
