I have just had a telephone call from the venue for this event explaining that they had the police round last night expressing their concerns about my night. They are concerned about the "sheer volume of people" expected to attend the night and the extent of the promotion.

Therefore, North Wales Police are urging Hendre Hall to cancel Phat Camp for fear of the popularity of the event generating riot like conditions.?????

I will be speaking to the police this afternoon as well as Hendre Hall to clarify matters but I fear that the final decision will not rest with me. Therefore, I urge anyone who had planned to come down to this night not to make travel arrangements just yet (booking trains e.t.c).

I will update this post as soon as the final decision is known to me, but at the moment it's looking like it will be cancelled.

I apologise to all those that have contributed to put this event on, but the matter is completely out of my hands.

There have been a few nights similar to this one. There was a succesfull one in the same venue only last week!!

I think theyre worried about the Liverpool/Manchester connection as it's been in the local paper (Gutterfunk e.t.c).

Or as I suspect there are some other forces at work somewhere and I intend to find out where!!

Sounds like the police are worried that things might kick-off if 800 people are tryin to get into a 400 (or whatever it is) capacity venue ...

If it comes to it; I'm sure there are a few other options / alternatives / solutions that could be explored ...

And there's enough time for TaPh's (highly successful!) promoting to inform everyone of any changes without affecting the turn-out!
