Alfonz De La Mota come from the true school underground scene, when renegade events and warehouse events were plentiful. Ever since a rave in 1993 Alfonz has been a true junglist supporting jungle/drum n bass loyally. After a year of parties Alfonz decided to take up DJ'ing for the simple fact of sharing energy and creating a vibe. He got his start playing a mix of underground hip hop and jungle for after hours crowds and small underground gatherings, he was known for playing ragga jungle and mixing to a gangstar tune if the room called for it, he enjoys creating a vibe all his own. Later he graduated to full scale events and even began booking and promoting his own events with "boogie tribe". In 2000 he decided to put promotion to the side and focus on music with his Project called "SOL-JAZZ", This was a DJ/Live fusion of dnb, hip hop tinged with Latin influences that had a rotating group of artist who would sit in with Alfonz for varied shows that would consist of bi-lingual MCs, Turntablists, Live musicians and studio gear live on stage. While playing as SOLJAZZ, Alfonz still found opportunities to play events all over the midwest from wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois to as far as Miami, Florida- upstate, new York and recently New York Cities Konkrete Jungle. For Alfonz there is nothing else like a small crowded drunk room of junglist ready for some energy that he delivers with every performance. A mixture of High paced Liquid Funk and Dance floor smashers mixed with the skill and pace of a professional who takes pride in sharing his musical journey with people who enjoy and appreciate Good Music. With his latest projects including allot of studio work finishing up six more tunes that will be released on a mix CD "Locked" for Sur America Records as well as a demo mix CD "Loaded" that he will give away in promotion of the "Locked CD", as well as taking Sur America into the future by starting a MP3 label for the non-dj -Sur America/dnb fans.
