ok folks,i just heard really bad things about the academy,the last spellbound night it seems..anyway im told a gang of undesirables complete with guns+knives walked past security and proceeded to rob+intimidate the crowd inside? any comments anyone? cos i was planning on going to the next spellbound and now im concerned

i was at stepback last time, i did notice a few moody types but i didn't get any trouble. the only problems i saw were the bouncers trying to remove these guys off the dancefloor near the start (almost knocked me over hehe), but after escorting em out they seemed to get back in 5 mins later.

also nearer the middle saw two guys going SICK ready to have a proper rumble with the bouncers, i think the bouncers just let em stay rather than fight em off.

i could see that there were probably some dodgy types in there, but then i never seem to get any trouble at these things - everyone i spoke to was safe as houses, i always think why the hell should we let the minority spoil it for us.

the crowd did remind me less of the local manchester bunch and more of the sort you'd see at compulsion@bowlers, but then i never really saw any major trouble at bowlers.. most people who go are there for the music like the rest of us.

i wouldn't let it worry ya, if you're not looking for trouble it's unlikely to come looking for you i reckon..

i'll double what poi's sayin, you'll be cool, they'll only fuck with you if you look for it or you let them, just move on if you see a screw face marchin over to you. don't let stories n rumours like that jeopadise what is goin to be an overweight night! see you there.

darka - best night i've had in a long while tbh, not seen a crowd that energetic and unified for a long while - skibadee sure brought em together (not that we weren't before that!).

good to meet yourself and the rest too.
