I have no idea how long it's been going on - I'm possibly the last one to know...
but John Peel is now on 3 nights a week.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, 10pm till 12.
Hope that's right anyway. I've lost the ability to remember stuff.
and the...........................forgot what I was gonna say :emb:

Can't bear Peel ... There's something about his voice that annoys the shit outa me ...
And though he does tend to chuck in some decent tunes; the odd-ball indie/rock shite he also plays ("And here's the new one from Depressive Slipper Vegetation") just make me wanna turn the radio/stereo off with my foot ...
:(
Yeah - he played some crazy Techno track last night about 11:45 - anyone get a name on that ??

I dunno if that's a blag either but I'm pretty sure he doesn't mix - what I do know is Xample posted a playlist from a John Peel "Fabric Live" CD not so long ago.

I heard a quote from Peel saying he loves playing music that people hate ....... hence the reason that he has played and would play things like happy hardcore tracks.

You mean like the Bee Gees sampling (?) "Hold me now" by DJ Kaos ??
Nowt wrong with happy hardcore man !
Erm...well, at least there wasn't up until about 97 when I lost interest due to all the needlessly soppy vocals.
I also believe in playing stuff that grates people - at least it provokes an emotional response - unlike playing pap like that 'Wednesday' (bad co. ?) tune which just leaves me flat. bored and gazing around the room.
Is happy hardcore still going ? or is it just hard house now ?
For what it's worth, I always hated Vibes, Hixxy, Dougal, Vinyl Groover etc but a bit of Ramos, Christian & M.C. Cyanide, Sy.....and above all - Brisk & Robbie Dee used to send me squirly.
M.C. Natz "I need your lovin.....like the sunshine."
Robbie Dee "YOU NEED SOME FUCKIN' ALCOHOL MATE !!"
