That's gutting! But it all adds to the excitement of the auction really!

Are you after the record for its gold-vinyl-ness or do you just want a copy of the tune? I have the gold promo and the 'normal' release, but could be persuaded to part with the normal one if you wanted that?

The best way to outbid the plebs on Ebay is by not being a tight-arse -- i.e raising the bid by 8 fucking pence!

Ygotta just lob a wedge down (like increase the bid by a tenner) to put other bidders off ...

... If ya want something that badly, it's worth it

speaking of ebay, have a look at this beast;

 :slayer:

have a look! (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=14216&item=2504873156&rd=1)

Man that is one cool piece of vinyl - never worth £100 though (I doubt any record is).

£20 or so isn't bad for the gold vinyls - cost me almost that much new at the time! Picture / etched discs are such a rip off.

Biggest rip off ever though - do you remember the "Two on One" series on Moving Shadow (from 1994)? There were #1 to '#9 - you know the ones?
Well I got #0 a very cool looking picture disc. What was on this picture disc? Sod all - no tracks but skanky Action records told me was a special promo. It was special all right - no music.
And yes, I am an idiot.

that is one of the rarest d&b records ever made

it is literally worth hundreds mate

they released it as a promo to the whole series, as it features the big picture that you make when you get all the 2on1 series.

rob playford had one as a clock on his office wall before it got nicked and now not even he has a copy of it!

i really hope you still have that record mate

Never! You're having a larf!
I kept it as I thought it was nice to have - I got all 9 of the 2 on 1s and doubted anyone else would have #0!

It is blank on both sides though - no music! So I can't see it being worth anything other than novelty value.

Anyway, I have a copy of that LSD EP - I can't see why anyone would pay £100 when you can get the normal version for about £20 second hand (at most).

I've also got the LSD E.P. - not a coloured vinyl one tho, but still....£101 quid ?!!!!

Phhh....I'd never sell.

Most I've been offered was quite a few years ago - £80 for Rhythm Quest - Closer to all your dreams.

and I didn't sell.

Don't sell Heat....don't do it !! I'll pay you to keep them.

erm...but if anyone's got that tune from ages ago 90/91.....
"Godzilla is now in new york city" (Intense - Toytown EP) I think
I'd part with some serious money !

It started of as "Ahh man...didn't know you had this.....I'll give you £15 quid for it ?" and got stupider the more I said no.

I've got a Ltd edition copy of V.I.S.A. - Lemme See Ya Move (Stu Allen) which cost me a tenner about 13 years ago - that should fetch a few quid now - and a white label of DJ Phantasy 'Never Try The Hippodrome'

I nearly bought a promo copy of Prodigy - Experience too but thought I'd be clever and wait for the proper (cheaper) release

...........Doh !

Biggest nightmare in my record buying history has gotta be missing out on a white label copy of Urban Shakedown - Do It Now......because I lent my last tenner to a mate to buy a white label copy of..........N-Trance - Set You Free

..........DOHHHH !!!

Yeah - the records that are ultimatley worth the most are the ones that you almost bought :bang:

Closer to all your dreams - do you mean the gatefold promo? I (luckily) bought it for about 6 quid years ago - if someone wants to give me 80 quid for it I'd be well happy!!!

Don't worry Amos - I am incredibly anal about keeping hold of my vinyl. You can still pay me to keep them if you want tho :D ;)

Woody - cool, will check out the forum. I am a bit of a Shadow collector too. Most disappointing though was finally getting SHADOW #1 - the tune itself is bobbins, such an anticlimax!

Is there a site or anywhere that gives ya an idea of how much rare(r) vinyl is worth?

Just curious after Woody stopped me (just in time!) from melting my white Calyx -- Catapult EP (MSXEP 003) into a coupla novelty ashtrays / fruitbowls!
