The Manchester drum and bass scene has long been crying out for a monthly event which caters for the darker, harder and more progressive sounds that the music has to offer. Introducing REFUGE a brand new night designed to fill this void. It will truly be the first time that an event of its kind has taken up residence in the city, and each month will proudly showcase the hottest underground talent within the scene.
If you’ve been aching to hear dark, twisted, and tearing amens, hard, techy, beats and thunderous dancefloor destroying basslines then REFUGE is just what you have been waiting for! A night set to adopt a unique and forward thinking music policy that will help push the city’s sonic boundaries. Wobble and liquid will be strictly off the menu, REFUGE is a night especially for the darkside soldiers amongst us! Expect to hear sounds from labels such as of Renegade Hardware, Freak, Tech Itch, Barcode, Penetration, Offkey and Metalheadz to name but a few.
REFUGE kicks off its aural onslaught on Manchester’s soundscape on Thursday 25th May with an extra special launch party. We instigate this new era in Manchester’s rich musical tapestry in the only way we can by inviting along darkside uber-lord, king of the freaks and all round purveyor of utter filth, the mighty DYLAN (Freak/Metalheadz/Renegade Hardware/Therapy Sessions)! Accompanied by some of Manchester’s freshest new DJ talent this promises to be a night not to be missed.
