Then he's going to battle with the sound engineer to see how high he can push the mixer into the red.
Then he's going to battle to carry his records out of Zanzibar.

Well there is a story . . . . .
he turns up 20 mins late and falls out the back of the car !! Then wanders off to have piss somewhere on seel street - goes missing for 10 mins. Eventaully when we find him and direct him to the decks it turns out he doesnt know where his records are. As it turns out they where in the car. After 30 min he eventaully gets on the decks - and everyone know who rowdy the stage get when Mark comes on. hehehehe - funny night.
So hands in the air crew - who's coming to this ?
It's Sol vs Conduct by the looks of it - Mr Smith is representing oversea's next week.
Bring it on Manchester :D

Ok then - following on from that . . . . U all know that Sophonic is a local thing , and I think we do well from it seeings as we dont do the a-list thing. However we do like to bring some forigen people over now and then . . . .
Suggest to me some people (sensible suggestions) that you'd like to see. Baring in mind myself and Si as residents these are the slots . . . .

No seriously though - the foreign thing is a great idea. Ive missed system D twice now but of what people told me and the set that's on this site he was fantastic. But tbh, if you hadn't have put him on (this goes for Shroombab e.t.c as well) i'd probably have never of heard of them. Thinking about it I don't really know any similar continent oriented dj's to suggest.
How about Sophonic holding a competition though? People send in mix tapes/ Cd's e.t.c and a live final held at a Sophonic sessions - no need for major prizes. Personally i'd relish the opportunity of playing at a Sophonic as a prize!!

The thing with these people is that - no one really knows who they are up here / and they will cost too much - we'd be better booking daze / sappo coz more people know em.
i didnt think it would be much use... but who the hell is Bakaar?!?!? no ones really heard of him. i dont know how muvch they would charge, i can find out!?!
The reason we do these things (put on foreiners(how do you spell that fuckin word!)is to keep the night fresh + give you something you wouldn't see anywhere else. it is a risk though, sometimes it pays off - in the case of system D, DJ Kid, Shroombab etc..and sometimes it doesn't - Bakaar.
Sophonic is not your 'run of the mill' night, so you don't see the usual DJ's.
In the case of Mark XTC, Sappo, Prophecy, Daze, Tonn Piper etc - these are local artists we have supported since day 1, and all feature regularly at Sophonic nights.
The competition is a good idea though - this will be sorted - details released soon.
i know loads of dj,s from austria who i know would smash it it all about the forien connection !!!

Just got back home after last night. I really enjoyed myself, but in sophonic i always do. Sol you played a wicked set, nice one.

Had big fun last nite! :D
Bit low on numbers -- But on the upside at least there was nuff room to move and it wasn't sauna stylee by midnight!
(Lot of the usual suspects missing last night ... Shame on you! :no: )
Big up Theos, Kaleida, Prophecy & Sol for laying down some seriously decent beats and basslines :thumbs: and Deval n SAS for working their usual magic on the mic (did the tonsilitis-suffering SAS MC? Sorry, but it all got a bit hazy after about 12! :spaced: )
Really feeling the darker side of Sol that we're getting to see more of recently too. IMO it really suits him & his style -- Drop the liquid and keep that pressure coming fella! (Turn to the dark side of the force!) :slayer:
Mark "LK" XTC ... Sorry -- Maybe it's just me, but I thought he was right boring (where's the "Yawn!" smiley?)
Please fella; do us all a favour and stop playing bloody LK in (what feels like) all your sets: It's old, it's tired and it's certainly well over-played -- Ditch it! :grr:
And as for draggin in the Midnight rmx after LK ... Oh my god! -- How predictable! :bah:

I had a smashing time last nite! It was a bit quieter than usual...but i thought that made a nice change,more air to go round so i could actually breath!!! Sol...ur set was wicked,nice one! Also thought prophecy were mint...they managed to squeeze in a couple of heavy tunes!!! Deval and SAS...u did a good job boys! It was also good to finally be able to put a few more boarders faces to names...:beer:...nice to meet u all!!!x

i wuz fukin smashed and danced like a twat on stage for nearly 2 hours.
