Optical is without a doubt, the most influential producer ever to have graced the drum n bass sound. His work has formed the foundations of drum n bass as we know it today - with classics like "To Shape the Future" (Metalheadz) still inspiring todays producers. In 1998 he formed Virus with Ed Rush and unleashed "Medicine" on the record buying public, and with the release of the "Wormhole" LP - they changed the face of drum n bass forever. The high quality release schedule was kept up steadily before the release of the second LP - "The Creeps" which once again set the drum n bass scene alight. The 3rd album ("The Return of the Original Dr Shade") is due late 2003 featuring collaborations with the Scratch Perverts amongst others.
Opticals appearance at the LVE 1st Birthday back in 2001 was one of the most memorable events in the history of Glasgow drum n bass nights and this is certain to be a night not to be missed!
Meanwhile, DJ Fierce has been involved in the evolution of the tech step sound since day one, Nico from No U Turn took this young Dj under his wing and nurtured his studio and Dj'ing skills. His production talents have featured on every major dnb label including the likes of Prototype (where he worked on the classic "Alien Girl" with Ed Rush & Optical), Renegade Hardware and Virus. He's collaborated time and time again with the likes of Matrix and Dom and in 2002 finally launched his own Quarantine imprint. As a DJ he's toured the world and is constantly in demand for his cutting edge tune selection alongside flawless mixing.
