Can i just get everyones opinion...
Ive had a mail off someone trying to play the mixes - and they reckon it would be better to serve them as MP3 instead of Real Audio. Is everyone able to play the mixes ok, or do you lot have trouble as well and think it might be worthwhile converting?

I ask because it will take me a long time to convert, and the file sizes are much bigger (and hence dont stream as well on a modem connection)...so if everyone is ok with them as real audio files I will leave them at that.

For those that dont have realplayer installed you can download it from here:

<a href="http://www.nwdnb.co.uk/Interact/Downloads/Downloads.htm" target="_blank">NWDNB Downloads Page</a>

Thats all you need - should take no longer than 30 minutes even on a modem.

later.

I'm up for MP3 everytime mate. I have real trouble downloading streams from my pc at home but then again my connection time is crap. I do all my internet gubbins at work and find it easy to download MP3's and burn them onto cd.

But obviously I'm speaking from my situation and no-one else's (the selfish git I am ..)

:)

Normal mp3 files can be streamed with winamp quite easily - asok if you had the mp3s at the same bitrate as realaudio, would the files be significantly larger? but then if you're gonna have them at the same bitrate, theres probably not going to be much of an advantage.

the main thing with having high quality mp3s is the file sizes, lots of strain on the nwdnb webserver!
