BUMP! (i just hurt my head) surreal is the one night which has a bit of class in this drum and bass world you live in... fair play reminds me of the olden days when drums were drums and basses were bass.
Looking forward to saturday:agree:
Excuse the extreme ignorance but I,ve not heard anything Marcus plays since he was on Kiss 102 in '96
Whats he playin' these days, not that it will stop me going.....wild horses and all that jazz:clap:

Well it all depends whether Sloss can be arsed, i'm sure with a bit of gentle persuasion from everyone he would be up for it.... Surreal parties always go down well at Andys... they usually live up to their name aswell!!
;)
As far as i know Hops hasn't made any official plans for an after party...i'll give him a ring to find out tho!!!:toke:

well well well!!!
Top night, respect to Tim+Stev and to all dj's and mc's who performed on the night.
We really enjoyed that, and Shy FX has redeemed himself by playing some great music.
It wasnt as busy as it could have been, but it made for a more civilised dancefloor.
Good atmosphere, shame there isnt another for a while now

Aye that was a good night
Wasn't at all impressed with the first half of Intalex's set though - Thought it was quite bland, boring, dis-jointed & uninspiring, with some really dubious tune selections early on ... 'Lyric On My Lip' & 'Champion Sound'? Decent enough tunes, but I didn't think they fitted at all well into his set at that point. It just seemed that he was playin the first thing that came to hand, with no thought behind it ...
Me, Rhian & Si dB (and quite a few others I noticed!) just ended up sitting out most of the Intalex set :(
Sappo was quality, and Shy FX was much better than I thought he'd be. I was expecting a cheese-filled set, so was well happy when it turned out to be nothing of the sort :guitar:
Best set of the night though? -- Hell that's gotta go to Asok & Affray :slayer:
I haven't enjoyed a set THAT much for soooo long!
Perfect balance of obviously well thought out tunes, with a lurverly hard-edged funkiness about em - fookin quality!
3 minutes after walkin in -- we were givin it jiggy and havin big fun
Was just a shame that Intalex came on afterwards and IMO destroyed the vibe Asok & Affray had started
Am I right that the Asok/Affray set wasn't recorded? :bah:

Had a really good time!!! Was a bit wasted though(for a change!!) I have to agree with Adam that Asok and Affray were the best by far (as usual)

@Mr and Mrs Frisky- Nice to see you again
@Asok-Sorry for being too drunk/off it AGAIN!!!

Yes! Had a truly enjoyable night, cheers to Tim & Stev - a pleasure to play on a top set-up like that. Cheers to all I spoke to. Adam and Rhian - glad you liked the tunes, you shall hear more on Friday. Didn't make the after party unfortunately as I was ready for zzzzzzzzzs at 3am. Personally thought that Marcus and Sappo stole the show and thoroughly enjoyed bouncing around from when we played 'til the end - loads of great tunes. Nice mic action from all 3 MCs too. Finally, much respect to one DJ Asok who made it down seemingly against all odds to play our set, cheers fella. See all who are available for Gutter Funk in sunny Manchester this Friday. Got a fat new sound system for ya. :toke:

Big ups going out to Stev and Tim and all the djs that played. Great night, great crowd, and quality music.
Surreal - Its all good!
After party was cool too.
Haven't been to a Surreal since the first time that Swift played a long time ago and it hasn't changed a bit!!
Great atmosphere, great people, great music and an excellent soundsystem!!! Great sets by all the Dj's involved too although didn't hear Shy Fx actually mixing that much - just seemed to switch the tunes but the tune selection was good so no complaint's really.
The only thing that has changed is the bar prices!! £3 for a can of red-stripe................... in the immortal words of Bernard Manning on Brass Eye
" It's a fucking disgrace!!"
Big Hello to everyone I met  there's too much of you to mention you all but you know who you are! :agree:

I might be completely wrong on this, but do you think this might be because, since he's been getting a lot more attention, and playing at a lot more of the bigger nights in London, he's become a bit lazy and just wacks on the same tunes that all the other djs at these nights play, thinking that this is enough to please the punters? I've seen him play loads of times, but the last couple have been like this (didn't make it on saturday though :( )
D&B&ME

im sure the dancefloor was empty until intalex came on...
he played a wicked set at the disco inferno thing.......he might just not have known what to play at a bigger night...... i bet the big tunes got joe public moving though!!!
can't please everyone!!
:argue:
What a corker of a night.
I mean it – I've not had a night out as good as that on the whole for ages.
AGES!
Nice one to Jo for the set – it was good man its just when you get there late it’s a bit of a fucker – but I think we rode it well enough ::
Nice one to Tim and Stev for putting themselves out ONCE AGAIN for the DNB community of the northwest.
Big hello to all the people I managed to meet for a change – Karen, Taph, Loz, erm…hehe Old School (again) looking twatted in the middle of the dancefloor.
Also shout to all the regulars – Frisky and Mrs Frisky for letting me stay (again), Adam and Super Rhian for both being minced all night but loving it, Deval, Si, Sol, Kurt, Daze (£3)….
And anyone else I forgot to mention.
I thought the music was cool all night and that all the faces I saw looked happy. What more do we need. I am however totally in shit state today at work and id like to crawl home and die. This is also due to massive alcohol excess at Mercury on the Friday….
Oh yeah - at D&B&ME - the floor was pretty empty for the first hour till he came on. It usually always is, thats why us up and comings get to play in that first hour - to get a taste for it. I thought Intalex was fucking great to be honest but then i thought sappo was too and also even shy fx. Impressed by the music all night.
Wicked nite Tim and Stev, u always seem to finish off the uni year with a stormer...like BC and Skibba last year!!:guitar:
Particularly enjoyed Sappo's set but Shy's was MINT 2!!!
Cheers to Karen and co 4 after party...i nearly had to crawl home thanks to the stella and brandy! :toke:
