As you all know X was on last Friday and anyone who was sceptical about the change of venue was set straight. This was one of the phattest nights i have been to in along time. The sound system, i was told, was 50K. All your insides vibrate and your ear drums buzz with the intense volumes, having said this the sound was incredibly clean. I dont think i have danced that much at a d&b night for the last 2 years.

First up resident Vantage.... he got the ball rolling nicely with a selection of slightly more chilled out jazzy flavours...although i didnt catch much of it as i was late.
Then J Majik stepped up dropping the usual upfront tunes including a big High Contrast dub, samples "Original Pirate Material...Has it come to this.." bodyrock beats..you must have heard it..
Mickey Finn played an old school set... superb, havent seen him in years and he certainly proved why he has been in the business for so long. Fav tune Deep Blue - Helicopter tune.
Goldie...played a good set with quite a few exclusives, as always the man had a big presence behind the decks...(and a phat Ferrari)
Futurebound as always was spot on dropping alot of tunes on infrared and forthcoming kaos projects. But for me it was the C4C remix of the helicopter tune.

To sum up, a phat night was had by all, although the security is tight, most people were still smiling/gurning. The le bateau vibe was still there with familiar faces all around. Cant wait for True Playaz....

Line Up: Dj Hype, Zinc, Pascal and Xample & Bane
Friday 7th June

All in all sounds great. Loud sound system, great DJ's etc etc. Just need to find out ways of enjoying myself dancing and listening to the music without the paranoia of walking past a bouncer, a bouncer walking past me, looking at a bouncer, going to the toilet, going to the bar, putting my hand in my pocket to scratch my balls, smiling, gurning or looking remotely happy.

Any of that, and your ass is on the street dude ....

I really do not understand why everyone is so paranoid about bouncers. Ive been clubbing for 10 years - all different kinds of club and different flavours of atmosphere, and I have never EVER had any undue hassle from bouncers or any problems.

Ok, I got turned away from a shitty nightclub once when I was 15, but thats it.

The Bouncers at bowlers were infamously complete twats, and some of my mates got hassle of them...one of them got a kicking (but it was for pissing in the middle of the dancefloor)...

Will everyone stop moaning and whinging and go and see X or werever for themselves before they condem the "shadyness" of the bouncers. I almost guarantee that as long as you dont go and ask one of them for any skins, you wont get any shit.

Rant over.

I'm with Asok there - we've never had trouble off bouncers, i mean they love to take the piss out of the gurning messed up ones but hey thats just them making their job a bit more interesting!

I remember one time at Bowlers we took my mates little brother, he was like 14 at the time, and he got in and my mate didnt, who was 18 at the time! lol!

Never had trouble off em tho.. I think the worst bit of bouncing i have even seen was when my mate left his jumper on the floor outside The Academy at Spellbound on Friday, we walked past the first lot of bouncers (they werent searching peopel or taking off tickets, just holding the queue), and when he realised and asked to go back (about 20 yards) to get it, they were like "no, go pay yourself in and come back out". i mean. wankers. total wankers. There wasnt even a queue at this time! Oh well.. i guess they have the power..

But yeah. Keep it to yourself and it's nobody elses problem, i'm sure thats what they'll think.

I could write some more crap too. But the keyboard is smoking.

muhahahh

Whooah there ...

In 10 years of clubbing I've never had hassle off bouncers. Mainly cos once you're through the door and you mind you're own business and are careful then you're o.k, whether it was Life to the Hac to Voodoo whatever. The only time I ever had dealings with bouncers was when I was saved by two of them when having the shit kicked out of me (for making eye contact with two meatheads) outside the Hacienda one night.

What I have to object with at Cream is the second searches. The last few times I've been there, I've seen loads of people, pulled off the dancefloor and searched, then thrown out. You go for a piss and you turn around and there's a bouncer there asking you turn out yer pockets.

I do not want to spend a night in that sort of environment especially after paying so much to get in, so much to get a drink blah blah. And judging from what mates have told me, not a lot of other people are wanting that either as Cream has been practically half empty on a Saturday night the last few months.

And don't start with the "well don't take drugs then" cos I wouldn't want to imagine what a dancefloor full of pissed up people would be like.

It's a case of wait and see innit. I'm not gonna cut my nose off to spite my face and miss out on Hype & Co next month but all the above that I've mentioned is definitely a worry on what's supposed to be a decent night out.

Well I had a good nite - I was much more sober than usual cos I had the guilt of an upcoming exam weighing on me but I still loved it! Finally talked my flat mate into going and she didn't hate it which was great from my point of view.

I love J Majik loads so it was great to see him bouncing away behind the decks in Liverpool!

Goldie (what can u say about Goldie - he's a legend) and Bane I agree with u about his motor - well flash!

I felt quite at home although the crowd is different to the DnB lot I see at home - but thats OK!

Anyhow - all in all a good nite...

Anyone know who is playing at the next one? I may have to venture up from the south if its anyone good!

PS Anyone see the random birds snogging on the dance floor - what was that about - they were spoiling my view of J Majik!

It's like a bird that no one knows.

I've heard a lot people (esp. Students) use the term "random person" for someone they dont know / recognise.

must be the soutern student influence.

Bluddy Students :D :D :D ;)

Sorry about my use of the term random to describe those birds Amos... I was in a hurry so I couldn't go into great detail but I think most people got what I meant... they were very odd tho - exhibitionist kinda style! I don't believe that they were really lesbians at all!

I was only bothered cos they got in way way when I was trying to see J Majik which is difficult enough through all the smoke and bearing in mind I'm not the tallest person in the world!

Xample - u r right - there is nothing wrong with southern students at all!
