I was all up for getting one as soon as it came out, but I'm quite happy with the 360 at the moment.
Probably will still get one in a coupla months once the price has dropped a bit, and better games are coming out -- as opposed to the usual weak launch titles.

in terms of blu-ray players its a bargain, as ive seen blu-ray players at a grand, and this is basically an all in one media centre with a blu ray-drive. but it is still very expensive and no doubt like all first batches of consoles it will have a few problems i assume, if not then it would be a first for a long time. so im gonna hold out as much as i can till the inevitable price drop

compared to what? this is blu-ray, 25gig of disc space to play with as opposed to 4.7 gig of dvd space. personally im quite intrigued as to what they are going to do with it

Yeah but the games will get better man - Look at the first games for any console compared to the latest shit - Dont know much abou gaming but a guessin that the progammers learn how to use the console better over time and from what I heard PS3 smacks it on processing power

Regardless of its new fangled blu-ray you still have to pay 400+ quid....

Just because the technology and reputation is first class does not mean its going to be a success....

Sales in Japan per week currently stand at:

65000+ Wii
32000+ PS3
3500+ 360

In the US.

82000+ Wii
55000+ 360
30000+ PS3

In the US the PS2 is outselling the PS3 2:1....

Unless Sony drop the price and take an even deeper cut on the production costs in hope of regaining revenue via licensing sales will continue to slow.

I personally would like to see it doing well or Sony knocking the price down so i can add one to my collection sooner rather than later.

I love my gaming consoles but i cant bring myself to part with a weeks wage for a console that isnt doing as well as it should be.

mate i never said it was going to be a success, i said im interested in what they are going to do with it, i myself wont be parting with the money, even though like i said compared to a blu ray player they are a bargain. but yeah im in total agreement that i will not be buying one till they drop in price as they will as ive heard all over the place it has been dissapointing sales wise and tbh im not surprised, as everyone cant afford the price tag. on ebay people have been paying 1600 quid for them, this was even after release date, i just dont get the mentality of some people :conf:
