I had it downloaded on Monday, but the bloddy thing doesnt work - gets 1/2 way through the intro and it comes up that the disc needs cleaning . . . . bugger.

I suppose I'll have to wait till friday . . . . .

It's a fitting end to a game that starts off brightly, wriggling elusively as you try and grasp what's going on, delighting in the mechanics and beautiful visuals, before sinking into a pattern that, while fairly gratifying, never evolves and ultimately becomes a bit boring, and quite amazingly repetitive.

Its ok, spend too much time travelling around places to get to other places. All the mini missions are a bit linier, save a man, pickpocket another . . . blah etc.

Story is a bit strange, set in the future trying to piece together your ancestors memories by plugging into a 'memory machine'. Crazy.

I try to only buy 9s or 10s thesedays.....eg cod4 (9) or galaxy (10)

i agree, if you play this game properly though, i.e finding your own routes through the levels, and killing the blokes in question, theres so many possibilities, or you could just follow the marker and stab him in a crowd, but thats not the point!

it turns into a better game if you play it how you want to, otherwise, yes, very repetitive!

Got this on rental for the weekend, and I think it's rather good.
The graphics and movement (especially when you're climbing or on horseback) are really slick.
Not finding the gameplay repetitive so far - like Krafty said, it's much more fun and varied if you don't take the direct route to complete your missions :agree:

On a downside though - far too many long and drawn-out cut scenes that you just can't sodding skip.... Go make a cuppa tea, come back, and it's still blathering on. ffs

Too much running around in circles and jumping about waitng for your meter to turn yellow so you can jump in that hay pile you ran past on your 20th lap of the market square, and waiting 10 minutes while some spud blabs on about crap before you can stab him in the stomach, how come you can't cut people's heads off as you ride past on your horse? that would've been cool.

Been watching my mate play it cause I cant afford it yet and I must say, Im not taken with it. I dont like the way it fasts through to the next 'task' so to speak. Don't think it's a scratch on the Prince of Persia games - I think there is more of a story with them and lots of puzzles too. You have to use your head to get through to the next stage, which doesnt seem to be the case with Assassins Creed.


But then again, I havent physically played it. I wouldnt say its a cross between Oblivion and... Was it theif!? Anyways, Oblivion has much more playability than Assassins.
