What sofware are you using to try and make bass sounds?
You probably need some VSTi or a more specific program to make bass sounds.
What help do you need with sound forge, fruit loops??

alright bro, im a signed artist (not braggin but want u to take heed of my advice)
lose fruityloops, even tho this is a good program start by using reason u can link reason with cubase if u want maybe that will come later. as far as gettin good sounding breaks:
1. use good quality samples in the first place(u cant polish a turd)
2. Use EQ's to find the sound u want i.e. high end on hi hats etc
3. use seperate drum machines for each different drum sound i.e one for the kick one for the snare etc so u can EQ them up differently. cant stress the importance of EQ'ing ur sounds - do this.
cut up a break using re-cycle or soundforge (soundforge is a wave editor by the way no point in trying to link it to fruityloops or any other sequencer.
then layer individual snares and kicks over the break to phatten it up.
try to get reason v2.5 its wicked for learnin on and u can make pro tunes on it cus we do, and andy c plays them so good luck
