I recently got a new computer and have installed Cubase Vst32 5.0 and Reason 1.0, as I had on my old computer.
Before I used to be able to bring up the Reason instruments in the midi tracks of Cubase via Rewire, but now it isn't working. :grr:
Can anyone help with this problem please??!?!?

Maybe...if that's the newest Cubase version, then you might need Reason 2 or 2.5.
version 1 is pretty old now. 3 years ish

i think you need ReWire2 for MIDI support between the apps... reason has suported it from v1.0 but cubase only started from version 5.0r4 and up.
maybe your version of cubase doesn't have rewire2? also i seem to remember that you have to install the apps in the right order... cubase then reason possibly....
i'd recommend cubase sx tho, it's the daddy. well it will be when they iron out those little bugs.....

cheers guys, I'm in the process of getting hold of SX (or maybe SL) soonish, I hope. The thing is it was all working ok on my last pc, so it might be the order in which it was installed, like you say.
it wont matter what order you install things. its the order you star them up. you have to open cubase then reason. and close reason first before shutting down cubase when you've finished. try reinstalling both progs. that usually helps most software problems!

cheers man, don't think I can be bothered installing them both again though, cos I've spent pissing ages loading up loads of instruments and plugins, so don't wanna go though that again unless I get SX!!
you dont need to uninstall plugins and vst instruments etc. just make a back up copy of your vst folder somewhere else on the drive. uninstall cubase and your vst folder should remain intact. then just reinstall. easy. it will take you 15 mins tops.
