That p&p is a bit harsh init?
It's worse than HTFR's postage tax!

Even if the cost of the actual tune was less than places like E-bloc / Chemical / Spin Inn etc etc; that p&p takes the price of any order waaaay over ...

Levity
15-09-2003, 07:37 PM
Post may seem harsh, but thats how much they are by recorded delivery

Weighed them myself....eg...a single cost 1.80 and the post sleeve cost 45p ..... total= £2.25....what can i say

If anyone isnt arsed about sending them recorded it is cheaper, but then they are not insured if they get lost... Up to you

Levity

erm... i know that by normal 1st class post a 12" is £1.15 + 45p for posting sleeve.. Will have to check how much it goes up by if you want more than 1

ermmmmm... dont really understand, you're selling tunes here at store prices and they're second hand (basically). who wants my technics for £750 so i can buy a new pair????

Levity
16-09-2003, 03:39 AM
But thats just it, they're not second hand!! They're direct from the distributors for my site which will be selling them...

CreDance.net will be online soon

Oh, and as we're on the subject of trade prices, there's a shop in Manchester selling a Pmc270 Vestax mixer for £550...I nearly died. Went in and told the guy he's got it wrong.. Told him i had the Pcv275 which is basically better and i only paid £300 for it.. Next time i went there he'd put an rrp price of 750 on it..selling it for 500.. What kills it is its a second hand shop..

Those prices are still a lot though, you can get them cheaper and with cheaper postage at the existing online stores

Levity
21-09-2003, 11:10 AM
Ignore 12" prices below...All are £4.50 now. Like i say p&p for a single by normal 1st class is £1.60 whereas by 1st class recorded its £2.25. If anyone wants more i'll be happy to go post office and weigh them for exact price. In the meantime, if ther's any questions, please let me know.

Trouble is mate, you can buy ALL of those tunes for less at either Redeye or Chemical, and they will charge about £3 postage for the whole lot.

I'm not trying to be an arsehole, just letting you know that there is a lot of competition and if your stuff is more expensive and you don't have a hook, then you're fucked basically.

As far as I can see, they haven't added the vat, which gets added in their checkout.
My prices are vat inclusive, therfore actually are cheaper in many instances.

As for the postage, it looks as if they use a carrier which charge a standard price per parcel... I'm looking into it..Any suggestions welcome...

Levity

.....Redeye that is

Levity
28-09-2003, 06:22 PM
Same with Chemical... Our standard £4.50 price takeaway the v.a.t is... £3.71.. Their £4.50 price + v.a.t is £5.28.. Big difference don't you think.

Levity
28-09-2003, 06:27 PM
So, say you get ten tunes from them at there £5.28 price each...with us you would save £7.80 on the same ten tunes....

And also, I know you're not being a cunt.. In fact its a great help that people are pointing things out so I can go have a look for myself. Remember I'm trying to get a good service going here, so thanks Woody--anything else you come up with let me know mate...

Get that postage stuff sorted (and a nice secure server for transactions) and I'd certainly be checking out some purchases at those prices :agree:

woody
29-09-2003, 07:24 PM
my bad, didn't think of the VAT

the only problem is the postage, 10 records from you would cost something like £15 in postage according to the last page...use a courier matey

and get 128bit encryption if you don't use it already!

Our Data Centre

Power
Our 400 KVA dedicated electricity supply was designed and installed to meet our diverse electrical needs. Power is routed through our lightning protection system, Generator changeover panel and redundant UPSs before getting to the servers. This ensures that all power to the servers is supplied at a smooth rate.

UPS
Two 200 KVA Uninterruptible Power Supplies protect our network in case of power failure. Should the power to our network fail, our high power UPS automatically kicks in to take the load of all the servers and network hardware

Generator
As our second line of defence against power failure we have installed a 500 KVA industrial generator, capable of supplying enough electricity to our entire data centre and office area for an indefinite period of time. This means that in the event of a major utility power failure your web site will still be available.

Lightning Protection
To guard against the threat of lightning (which could send spikes through the electricity supply and damage servers) we have installed a Furse lightning protection system. If an illegal spike is detected the system automatically takes this spike and destroys it. This system provides protection between all sets of conductors (phase to neutral, phase to earth and neutral to earth) ensuring total protection and closing all transient paths to equipment.

Network Monitoring
We use 3 Cisco 7206VXR routers and 2 Enterprise Alpine 3808. Should one of either of these network components fail, our network will carry on with no degradation in speed or reliability.

Fire Protection
Should a fire break out in the data centre then our FM200 Fire Suppression System will be triggered, in seconds FM200 gas will be released into the room extinguishing the fire. FM200 is a computer friendly gas that will not harm computers or leave a residue.

Air Conditioning
Our data centre is equipped with powerful under-floor air conditioning systems to maintain a consistently controlled environment.

Water Detection
In the unlikely event that water leaks into the data centre then sensors throughout the area will detect the leak and sound the alarm to our network operations centre staff.

Servers
Our data centre is home to thousands of servers including Sun, IBM, Compaq, Dell and HP servers.

Sun Cobalt RaQ
We host more Sun Cobalt RaQs in our data centre then any other hosting company in Europe. We have a special relationship with Cobalt Networks (a subsidiary of Sun Microsystems) that allows us to provide cutting edge support and service.

High Security
Our data centre was constructed with security in mind. Access is restricted by proximity reader access that records all access to the data centre, and it is monitored by CCTV at all times.

Reckon thats a good deal for £23 a month

asok
30-09-2003, 12:02 AM

If they dont take your website down and the website uptime is good, then the host is good, its that simple

OK, haven't fully solved the postage problem yet. Been onto a few carriers and they are taking their time coming up with answers to my queries

Therefore at the moment I can only send via Royal Mail. I am waiting on Business Express to get back to me...

Anyway, check out the tunes in the buy and sell forum at......
http://www.credance.net/forum/

I will be updating it soon as it hasn't been updated for a while... got a good bit of stock to be listed there.
