|| Good Vibes & Interesting Times! Bass - Based musics in Wigan! |||

||| Dubstep / Drum & Bass / Breaks / Fidget |||

With the sound of the GASH Soundsystem, and Sappo's awesome DnB based madness still ringing in our heads, we thought we'd let you know about the next lot of aural treat's heading your way for #13!

This time we are also happy to be part of Wigans wonderful NXNW Festival (http://www.nxnwfestival.co.uk/)

Okay, let us begin.....

First up on our we would like to introduce KANJI KINETIC. You may very well have heard this man and his music, but heres a little rundown of this rawkus bassmeister just in case.....

He first came to our attention with his "Shock Tactics EP" on Rag & Bone and we've been interested ever since. We find it difficult to ignore such ravey bassy sounds!

His style has been described as "...Ridiculous 4×4 synth insanity that’ll make you want to scream and tear your front teeth out with a rusty fork" and also as "Man of the moment" via Mixmag

This is a good thing...

Check out his productions + mixes and see what you think:

Nextly (that is deffo a word !) stepping in to experience a bit of Wigan gusto we have a man with a big history in Drum and Bass...

AJAY has been on the scene since the early 90's when he got a regular gig playing Jungle at a club in Preston called the Gatsby, back then he would often take the mic and get the crowd hyped up, these verbal's led him to be resident DJ and MC at the now legendary Dreamstate nights held in Morecambe’s Dome and getting to work with the likes of Top Buzz, Nookie, Tango, Grooverider, Mickey Finn (to name a few!)

These days, somewhere amongst the many gigs up and down the land , he finds time to host his radio show "The Information Centre" every Friday night on http://www.krisisdnb.com (http://www.krisisdnb.com/)

He will definately bring us all a bag of superfuntimes http://www.dubstepforum.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

On the resident side we have our Liverpool representative TENMEN bringing all sorts of dubstep lushness. Also, back to give us a wobbly double teaming are HEAPY & BILLZILLA bringing some back2back shenanigans (well , more side to side really !)

Once more DJ HZ will be providing a high-speed jump-upity assault, plus lastly but not leastly ODDFELLOW and DOCTOR will be sweating out some sort of heavy bassy-bassedness.

Since I post these up on a monthly basis and they tend to hang around on the event page / in here, maybe it would be a good idea to just have a rolling thread that I update every time there is a new event?

What say you mods / forum overlords?

Not that people can be forced, but I wish more people would check the night out. It's one of the best nights in the North West as far as i'm concerned ( and no, not because i'm resident ).

I was actually dubious about the whole thing the first time I went down, just expecting chavs aplenty.... how wrong I was. A great group of guys running the event, with a great club and soundsystem, and some of the best ravers i've had the pleasure of playing too, it's my fave time of the month.

All the people who have said thy're gonna come down, actually do it and see for yourselves. The night deserves a lot more respect on here than it actually gets.

Anything past Manchester gets a bit too expensive for me otherwise would be up for it.... Don't even make all the Manc nights I would like to due to being skint half the time.

Don't feel you need to justify yourself mate, even I can't get to all the nights I wanted like I used too.

Just don't want Tom to feel he has to leave an open thread to post up his night, which is fine for a quick radio show update, but when in fact Sean and himself are running one of THE best nights in the North West, it would be a bit bollocks really. I hope people on here soon start realising it because the Don't Panic crew deserve the recognition in the North West at least for the amount of work they put into these nights each month. Suppose it's not the be all and end all but the more people that know the merrier.

I wasn't saying this was one of the best evenings of the month for the good of my health, I do actually mean it, and i've enjoyed seeing it grow into the night that it is over the past year and am also very honoured and privileged that they took me on board as resident.

Thanks for the kind words Meech. We try our best to make the night good each month so it's good to hear :)

I think people might be scared of crossing the border over to Wigan. Some of the locals are scary looking but you'll all be perfectly safe. I'll look after you!

A short poem about tonight........

An ODDFELLOW came to town, he said; "pleased to MEECHA"

He had the strength of TENMEN and rather HEAPY features!

He went A JAY-walking one day, and was ploughed down with a tractor

He clocked the driver, a right conniver, who chuckled "I am a DOCTOR"

"Please god that really HZ, why all the laughter?"

"Dont feel so bad, BILL ZILLA than you cos I ran him down much faster!

Calm Down, DONT PANIC and stop being so pathetic,

I'm racing off to Wigan now or I'll miss KANJI KINETIC!"
