Been having a look around for audio editing software (thanks Sol n Poi) n it seems that most ppl are goin for Cool Edit/Sound Forge.

But on me travels surfin for free/shareware editors, I came across this site:

<a href="http://www.nonags.com" target="_blank">http://www.nonags.com</a>

It has a list of 6 or so decent looking bits of (free!) software (but I'm no expert here; so I might be talkin shite .. again).
The best-lookin package is for members-only download; but I picked out one called "Audacity", which I've found is really quite good.

It has loadsa features including multi-line/track editing, various spectographs, loadsa FX n filters n stuff; but best of all -- it's dead simple to use (and FREE)

I'm not sayin this is better than Cool Edit/Sound Forge -- if you have any DJ/Production skills I guess you might find a package like this a lil too basic (but maybe not!) -- but for someone like myself, who is still at the "just messin about makin lots of (usually quite bad) noise" level it's perfect for my needs.

Dunno if thats of any use to anyone -- just thought I'd mention it .... ;)

always good to have options if soundforge or the likes seem a bit daunting. If anyone has alternatives that they use, always give em a mention, they might end up being better software.
