Can anyone who produces and lives local (manc/pool) do me a favour and take me under their wing and give me some direction..... im fookin stumped on making tunes.....mainly with audio synthesis.....ie...making new noise's..

You see the problem i have is im stupid and cant be arsed to go to college locally (st helens) as.....

1. it costs money....

2. i know the tutors and they make poo music for tv.....

3. they hate drum and bass.....apart from one but ill have to quit my job just to get on a course....

...the reason im giving an open ended plea is that im likely to take up anyones offer....and id rather you offer, than me to ask...specifically.

plus, and i wont be shady about this fact......i take take influence from differant angles of production rather than listen to just one opinion/advice.....

....any level of help would be good.....and the rewards for letting me annoy you for a hour or two will be great.......beer/smoke/food/friendship/sexual favours (women only)...

if know one's interested or thinks i should get on with it myself... fair due's....just seein if anyone would be nice enough...

hi

unless you want be be a Sound Engineer then dont give up work and go to college.. Wast of time.

Just work, and learn yourself in the evenings. Then at leat you'll have the cash to buy all the lovely equipment you'll learn about.

Get a PC. get cracked software, read the manuals as you go. See how it goes.

Reason even has a few (shite) demo songs with it. These can give you a little insight into how some tunes are structured.

I'm sure there's loads of peole on here that will answer any questions you come up with, or even sort you out a software CD.

agreed, do not go to college unless you want to do something specialist

just working in a studio = minimum wage and 80 hours a week

fuck that

I've got reason 2.5 and loads of other stuff (soundforge, wavelab, cubase SX & VST 24), let me know if you want a CD mate

i probably guesing right when i say this
i reckon most people just learn it them selves look at some dnb production forums ,soundonsound ,doa grid, paradox jungle
even browse through this production bit for old threads ya might find usefull
i will say you prob pick up things alot quiker if some one showed you

just keep it simple to start with
soft sampler
drum machine
sequencer of choice
at the mo all i use is halion2 ,battery,cubase 5 vst/32 r6

if im ever on msn or aim or anyhting ill always be willing to help ifya stuck or shit man even though im no expert it all helps

if ya want something to do i could give you a track and have a go at remixing it or rearanging it ,

giz a shout anyway if ya want anyways
