@ Prakol

All soundcards click when your output buffer (latency) is set too low mate!

my buffer is at max

im runnning it on a pentium 4 with 512 mb ram its a modern computer and its kept up in spec

its just a 'normal' soundcard i have not one used for production....

ive got a bit of money and want a soundcard for use in production i dont want anything extremely expensive but i dont mind paying for quality...

...oh and i wanna get really experimental with my production so i dont wanna get the same problems 6 months down the line......

What program are you getting the clicking in? Cubase? Reason? What do you mean by a 'normal' sound card, who is it made by? Is it built in to your motherboard?

I'm just running a Soundblaster Live! which is pretty out-dated nowadays but still runs fine for me when i'm using a horrific ammount of plug-in's!!. You don't really need a powerful soundcard to use lots of plug-ins that?s more to do with your processor speed, a Pentium 4 should be more than adequate. Good (expensive) soundcards are more of an advantage if your working with MIDI (keyboards), as they will keep the latency down.
