open the wav file you just got in soundforge

copy it and paste it in your mix were ever you want it

rememebr to set the volume for the sample you just got so it fits in the mix

Or you could load the mix into Cubase onto an audio track and do the same with sample onto another audio track and then you can put fx and all sorts of clever shizzle on the sample. Great idea that sample though

First of all make sure you put a fade on the end of the sample so it doesnt sound too abrupt when it ends, also a bit of reverb wont go amiss. Use the insert silence option and select "at end of file" then put some reverb on it to make it blend with the mix better.

ctrl and c to copy the sample to the clipboard

open up your mix

Put your cursor where u want the sample to start, press ctrl and m, this will bring up the paste mix tool. preview the sample and move the clipboard volume fader until the sample is at the correct volume and click ok

It really isnt as complicated as ive made it sound lol

True, you want the sample to end on a zero crossing (0dB) and addig reverb to one which doesnt, makes an awful "click" at the end.

With delay, you have to make sure the Start of the sample starts at 0dB aswell.
