Woah Matrix! Chill out a bit! Don't you think its good to enlighten the rest of them with a bit of drum n bass? Anyone else? Anyway, you could always get the Sophonic CD with the HEAVY!! remix on it...
So Sol, does me shamelessly plugging the cds get me on the guestlist?!?!
Hold your f$%*&ing horses!! I think someone has the wrong end of the stick mate.... what is happening in d&b now is all good. It is a good tune...yeah. Just cos its in the charts... this does not make it bad. Finally d&b is getting some recognision. You must be expecting alot of replies to this email.... i think you have the wrong idea about what is going on right now. Im not the only one who is gonna say this.....What remix you chatting about?...future cut or digital and spirit..i bought myself some doubles...just for the house party scene but its all good!!!

I just dont wanna see D&B get over commercialised like happened with hard house.. I dont wanna see stuff like "The greatest D&B tracks in the world ever ... part 16" out & about. There's a certain buzz & vibe from an underground scene, that gets lost once all the plebs discover it... P.S heh heh <griiiin!> future cut remix still kix ass ;)
Thats cool... but d&b is always gonna have the underground following. And yeah a few of those dance floor killas that we know and love will get in the charts. Its happening right now... LK by Marky etc... So what. If a few phat tunes cross over then its all good. Just appreciate what is going on right now, dont complain... I know a few people are gonna commercialise d&b, fuck em. who is gonna buy it...certainly not me... we will see in the next few months... d&b will never sell out..... long live the junglist movement..!
ill say one thing:
the state of s n b at the moment is a great thing.

it was funny watching the invisible shy fkx on top of the pops ...i was watching the teeny crowd try to switch to the 170 bpm dnb beat when the song came in ...lots of nervous swaying .....excellent tv viewing when u r stoned.
Shake ur body - catchy ....too catthcy ...i am not a fan vocals with dnb n it only took a few listens before i hated the tune ..heard that future cutn n digital would do remixes ....thought ....mmmmm .could be phat ........but no .....the remixes were very unoriginal and boring retaining the vocals all the way through ....i woulda preferred a cut up fuked up vocal amen mutationz style monster as the undergrounds protest to this now uk top ten hit , but no ....trhe original remains the best version cos the bass is bad ass ...but it is now destined for "cream " and "ibiza " compilation albums ........damn shy fx ...u was de nuttah .....now u just aint so cool ...... i just hope the next shy fx release is a jungle conga bambattaa influenced heavy as shit tech steppa but it aint gonna happen.
thats rubbish mate - sorry...
Shake ur body might not be everyones cup of tea but when i first heard it about 6 months ago it was absolutely spot on. The only reason im a bit off it now is cos ive heard it that many times...
Shy fx IS still the man - and will continue to be the man, for as far as im concerned he will probably follow this little style hes made for a while (listen to the new dub on the arena), and then smash D N B up again with something completely different - which he has probably already made and is just waiting for the right moment.
Vocals can only be a good thing if they take our music out to a wider sound. One of the devout trance/prog heads who i work with was asking what the track with the "sex in the city bit" is to me the other day. Now this may be a bad thing to some but I said "its shake ur body"...he said he liked it and blah blah blah so i got him to listen to you got me burning by peshay - and guess what - he liked that too. Wont be long before he tries going to a d n b club and realises thats its THE music, THE place to be, and then - voila! One more persons eyes (and ears) opened.
rant over.

That exactly right, you've got to remember that when you hear a tune over and over again it might get a little bit stale, but its still a wicked tune. So what if it makes it on to a couple of shitty compilations, it'll still be the tune that was tearin up the underground when it was first played! :D
Thats right, i get bored of ed rush and optical tunes eventually, thats just cos ive been playing them in my bedroom so much. But you have to remember that initial reaction. I remember when Si (I think??) played "shake it" at Valve, with the Dillinjaish drums and bouncy bass, the ladies loved it, so did I, it really brought the best out in the tune. >To Paebac, why dont you make your own remix of "shake it" then? If you dont think d&b is doing the right thing, get in the studio and do it your way...nuff said.
By the way, im not the biggest fan of freaky rnb vocals either but it takes all sorts... thats the beauty of d&b..
There was a new ShyFx thing on Dnb Arena a couple of days back with Kelly Le Roc on vocals. It was Phat! but i cant seem to find it now :(

it seems asok is streets ahead of the rest of us....he's locked down with the s'n'b sound.....
typo massive inside!!!!
hehehe
:D
i agree - at the end of the day shake your body is a phat choon, and the fact that it has lyrics or that more commercial edge isn't gonna change that.
and if it gets in the charts? that's surely all good cos as asok said, it opens the door for more people to get switched onto the dnb sound.
and the true junglists are always gonna dig the underground sound - nothing will change that.

I had considered this , the only problem is I would need a nice clean accapella to chop/fuck up . My chances of getting that = :confused

if theres one upside you must agree with is that more women will be attracted to the scene. thats not to dicount those that are already there but i remember warning being like a rugby club.
