View Full Version : Cali and meeting new peeps...
Sound.
What a sound night.
Good to meet Si and Deval at last properly and flex the vocal cords...sorry if i got in the air time too much on the way back deval i dont get chance to flex em much very more...tim as well - good to get to meet everyone.
Good to give the cd's out as well...we shall soon see what feedback comes back. Its good to finally meet a crew who see what i see in drum n bass.
I swear to god - every time SI hears a bit of rhyming he likes or a bit of a tune he likes you see the passion come from inside im - thats why the guy is D N B proper. Inspirational.
Big big respect to all peeps in the cali for the nw scene..
laterz.
Good to hear, i will try and make it down next week... have you thought of getting some proper decks in there and doing a "NWDNB dj comp"... might be an idea... You could get a shit load of people down, get some judges etc. Dont know about prizes though????
What a fantastic idea Jim! I'll come and mix it up with y'all. I need to get my act together and start coming to all the nights you guys seem to go to, I've not been able to go out much recently due to a few things, but that's all changing now.
Asok; I know what you mean about that firey passion for drum and bass, i only know two people who truely share that - You hear something you like and it just makes you moist.. :D
To be honest I dont think the Callie is the ideal place to hold a DJ comp.
If you have been in there and heard the system u will know what i mean :)
But none the less it's a good idea. Lets see what happens when the site goes live and see do some proper promotion.
ez
Yeah - I dont wanna sound like im kissing arse or anythin but it was a sweet vibe of knowledgable people.
All this talk of a www.nwdnb.co.uk launch party sounds wicked but we will have to get the venue sorted and stuff like that...
Sol mate, up to you.
I will be looking into it, but it aint just as easy as that !
There are only a couple of good venues in Liverpool and only 4 weekends a month.
3 of which already have DnB nites on them and the other is No-Fakin.
Why do u think Im not doing Element at the mo ? :D

Did you ever go to a deep house night with DIY that was on about a year ago, in this little place called Blakes or summat (or next to Blakes) ??
That seemed like a nice intimate venue (nice decor and stuff I seem to remember..)
And come to think of it, what happened to the Mardi Gras ?
Yeah what did happen to the mardi gras ? I remember going to Liquidation in there years ago. Havent heard anything from it in a while.

could do it in Manchester....?
NWDNB party sounds good...think of the lineup!!!
i would do it with say four DJs playing, one representing a crew, ie. Si Smith from Sophonic, Deval from Spellbound, Bane from Contrast, Panik from Void, etc.....
then a DJ comp for everyone else, winner gets a spot at one of the other crews' jams.....
obviously this has a lot of 'ifs' and 'buts'....but its worth thinking about, im up for helping out.....
I reckon summat might happen in the form of an nwdnb night but we gotta get the site launched and that first - which me n sol are currently beavering away on.
Should all be done (or lots of it anywayay) for the bad company night...
