A year after the club's closure, Planet K is set to re-open its doors in late Novemeber under its new name, Club Ascension. They've completetly gutted the place and started from scratch. With a total capacity of around 1500 spread across all its rooms it is set to become manchesters largest club venue. I've also heard somewhere tht each of the clubs four sound systems have been fitted by the world famous Eskimo Noize PA company, responsible for some of the fattest systems in the world :slayer:. However thats only a rumour, so dont hold your breath.

Not heard any news about any drum & bass nights tho. So come on lads, chop-chop! :)

you will be shocked at the line ups- if they are still to be the ones that i have seen. fuckin shockin- god help us all!

Jesus, hope its not going to be some dance, trance, pants scally fest. Manchester could do without that. It'll be a top venue but sounds like there's gonna be some shitty nights on... :(

I'm sure if we got hold of the place we could dirty it up a little! :thumbs:

I want to hire it! Anyone interested in aiding me? Been fucked over by too many venues to be arsed about whether its too big. We'll fill it. PM me if your intersted in hostin some *seriously* phat D&B bizness at this place!

No seriously, I am looking for some people willing to help me put a night on in Manchester. Not necessarily at this venue (tho that would be nice!), as I have good links with most venues and promoters around town. PM me if anyone's interested, or you can drop me a text/line on 07734 866467. Hopefully gonna focus on a hip hop/funk/d&b vibe, I've got loads of ppl wanting to play, and of course, all the wicked ppl on this board. I have many venues willing to let me hire.
